Welcome to Very Piano!

Very Piano has one goal – we want to be the best possible resource for piano teachers at all levels in their business.

Very Piano is run by Megan Desmarais, owner of a bustling piano studio in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Besides running her studio where she instructs dozens of students of all ages with the help of a team of student teachers, Megan created Very Piano in 2013 as her resource for all things piano teacher related, and Teach Preschool Music as a resource for music teachers wanting to branch out into teaching the youngest learners.

Megan studied piano at the University of Tulsa (B.A., Music) with Anna Norberg and at Wichita State University (M.M., Piano Pedagogy) with Dr. Sylvia Coats and Dr. Andrew Trechak.  She trained with Debra Perez to teach her Recreational Music Making program for adults, and has completed additional training in early childhood music and development.

Megan is a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music through the Music Teacher’s National Association, and is also involved in her local Music Teachers Association, BAMTA, where she serves as the secretary.  Megan has previously held the positions of recording secretary for WMMTA and certification chair for KMTA.

Megan likes to credit her children, Sophie, Paul, and Pax, with helping inspire an even greater love of music and teaching.
