About Me
I maintain a bustling piano studio in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Most of my students are K-12 kids who participate in my weekly Piano Lessons/Lab program. I also teach a handful of adults, a Preschool Music Class and several long-distance students via FaceTime or Skype.
Currently, my focus is on teaching, but I have also accompanied many school and church choirs.
I wear many hats, but one of my favorites is my role as mom to Sophie and Paul.
They have taught me to enjoy music in new ways, amazed me with their blossoming love of music and helped me to strive for balance and efficiency! 🙂
Outside of my piano life, I enjoy spending time with my husband and kids, staying active at my gym and with running, experimenting with vegetarian cooking, catching up with friends and singing in my church choir.
Credentials
I studied piano at The University of Tulsa (B.A., Music) with Anna Norberg and at Wichita State University (M.M., Piano Pedagogy) with Dr. Sylvia Coats and Dr. Andrew Trechak. I have trained with Debra Perez to teach her Recreational Music Making program for adults. Additionally, I have completed training in early childhood music and development.
I am a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music through the Music Teacher’s National Association. I am also involved in my local Music Teachers Association, BAMTA, and serve as the secretary. Previously I held the positions of recording secretary for WMMTA and certification chair for KMTA.
Don’t miss out on my exclusive emails full of free music and resources!
