Hi there. I’m quite interested in your iPractice incentive program and GPS themed incentive….but I’d like a little more info on the premise…perhaps a teaser page? I wasn’t able to find a description anywhere. Thank you.

Hi Roxy, I’m glad you asked! I’m planning to post a tour of each assignment book soon, but in the meantime, I’ll email you a little more info.

I really love your ideas for creating community and your assignment books. A suggestion on the CD’s. If you are converting the MIDI files to mp3’s on your Mac, couldn’t you just burn them straight from there onto a CD? Through Garage band? Also – do you have any recording suggestions for someone that doesn’t have a Clavinova (yet) 😉 I desperately hope to be able to get one in the near future, but until then I love the idea of recording the CD!

Thanks for the suggestion, Mary! If I recall from the first time I figured out the whole CD thing, I cannot create a disk with separate tracks using Garageband. Each students’ songs would be 1 long track. So, I always export to iTunes and create a playlist. I’ll have to look into it again though, now that you mention it. I definitely wouldn’t mind streamlining this process!

I only have experience with my Clavinova, but I have heard from others that you can get a good recording just using Garageband and a good mic with an acoustic piano.

Hi Megan, I saw your post on one of the piano teaching forums! I’m interested in your point system for earning the opportunity to make the CD! I think I have the technology to do something like this. Glad you posted! Love your blog!

Hi Kerri, My students are working towards 200 points for the year. We have 2 15 week semesters. They get 1 point for each day of practice and they usually earn a couple of points while they are at their lesson by completing assignments and activities. I designed to point system to try to help as many students as possible be successful, not just the high achievers.
